  • Which DMBS are approved to be used with DmView?

    The following Operating Systems are approved to use with DmView:

  • Is it possible to issue a license to use DmView for a limited period?

    Yes, it is possible to issue a license for a predetermined period. Just inform the starting date and end date and submit an inquiry to our Commercial department.

  • Is it possible to use DmView in a virtualized environment?

    DmView is supported for installation in virtual environments such as VmWare and VirtualBox. This virtual machine must have its memory, processing and disk settings configured as recommended by Datacom, considering the number of elements to be managed, equipment models, extra DmView options that will be installed/licensed, number of simultaneous users, desired availability/redundancy, etc.

  • How many ONUs can be used in each PON branch?

    In ideal situations, it is possible to use up to 128 ONUs per PON branch. This amount will be reduced if the network size is increased because there will be an attenuation increase due to the fiber length, splices, connections and use of splitters.

  • What is the maximum reach for customer service?

    It varies according to the installed network. A good design with a qualified implementation will achieve the best distance. In practice, we guarantee the operation of our ONUs up to the received power of -27dBm and our OLTs up to -28dBm. Given these factors, our products operate in class B+ ensuring a maximum reach of 20km.

  • How to get two ONUs to communicate with each other on the same network?

    For a solution with DM4650 / DM4680 we have the hairpin functionality, where we apply the isolation mode off command in the desired VLAN, allowing such use. For the DM4610 one uses VLAN type TLS.

  • What are the possible forms of connection to final customers?

    Is possible to perform authentication by DHCP (IPoE) using option 82 or PPPoE, and in this second case it is necessary to use a BRAS (Broadband Remote Access Server) equipment. It is also possible to use a configuration via fixed IP.

  • Can be GPON solutions from other players be used with DATACOM´s GPON?

    Yes is possible to use products from other players in conjunction with DATACOM´s GPON solutions, provided that they are compatible with the ITU-T standards for this technology. Homologation / compatibility tests can be performed, subject to a commercial negotiation.

    We provide our customers with a Repair Center with a specialized technical support team where the maintenance of our products is conducted.

    Before sending the devices for repair, if there is any doubt whether the failure is related to device failure or conflicting settings, we note that it is important to get in touch with our Technical Support and ask for help so that together you can detect the failure in the best possible manner, thus avoiding the unnecessary sending of the device to Technical Assistance.

  • Failure report

    Seeking greater effectiveness in the maintenance of the devices that are returned for repair, it is important to provide a report of the device failures, especially in cases where the failure is intermittent or happens in specific situations. For this purpose we ask our customers to send a report along with the device. A report template can be downloaded below.

  • Equipment care

    Devices sent to DATACOM for repair must be protected. Make sure that the product is properly packaged. Apart from physical protection, the package must also provide antistatic protection. Preferably use the original packages and protections.
