Introducao:

The TSW900ETH is a portable hand-held test unit that is used in the installation, certification, development and maintenance of circuits and equipment using Ethernet technology. The Test Set TSW900ETH performs diagnostic testing of the physical (electrical cable and optical signal) and different tests with configurable data traffic. It also performs automatically tests specified in RFC2544 (Throughput, Latency, Frame Loss Rate and Back-to-Back Frames).

The TSW900ETH can also be configured to operate in loopback mode and be used to retransmit the received data . All mentioned tests can be performed at Layer 2 (Ethernet) or at Layer 3 (IP packets encapsulated in Ethernet frames). The test set also count with a few functions and specific tests of the IP layer, like Ping and Trace Route. With two completely independent ports, the Test Set TSW900ETH becomes a device of great versatility and usefulness in different applications. Each port can be used via the electrical interface (RJ-45 connectors for 10/100/1000 Base-T) or optical (SFP modules for connections - Small Form Factor Pluggable). This feature allows, for example, field technicians perform simultaneous tests on two circuits, which can be customer / completely different networks, or they can represent two routers on the same network.
